OUR STORY

A horse-loving family business

It all began when Carol was a young girl living amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. When she was just 8 years old, Carol was already leading children on horses. As a teenager, she went on to compete in horse shows and loved working on her North Carolinian family farm with many boarded horses.

In 1984, Carol and her husband Mark moved their young family to Texas and opened Camp GiddyUp: a horse-boarding, riding lessons, and trail-riding facility near Lake Lavon in Lucas, Texas. Years later in 2007, Mark and Carol created Little Harts Preschool (The Pony Preschool), where Carol could share her love of horses with young children: riding ponies was part of the everyday curriculum and soon the preschool was expanded to include summer camps and last but not least, pony parties!

In 2009, Mark and Carol created Anna Acres and initially hosted weddings and summer camps. In 2013 they moved to Anna Acres where they consolidated the Anna Acres activities to hosting pony parties and pony rides—where they continue to bring joy to kids and adults alike with wonderful family farm experiences today.
